About The Band

Side FX is a five piece band that hails from Washington DC with an alternative pop sound that is all their own. The band, who is well known for exploring new sounds and combining rhythms and beats that together offer the unexpected, continue to break traditional boundaries within the music industry. In a short period of time, Side FX has accomplished what takes most bands years to do. The band is fronted by sultry singer-songwriter-designer Kim Cameron.

Side FX was formed in 2008, the band was launched with their CD, 'Contradictions.' The CD was featured on hundreds of US and International radio stations. Placements on American Airlines, MTV Philippines, Sirius, Great Americans, Plum TV, District Dish TV, Coffee Network, Pulp Magazine, INK 19, Command Performance, sold out show at Blues Alley plus several live radio performances have made this band one of the top powerhouse pop rock bands on the east coast.

The band motto of More than Just Music along with their eclectic mix of genres, that showcase Kim's complexity and diversity as a songwriter and a woman have garnered them millions of matches on Google and website hits just within the last year.

Side FX makes it a point to perform at events that allow them to give back to causes that are close to the band members. Recently, the band reached a personal goal when performing at Walter Reed Medical Center for the injured service men and women and have carried on that tradition with their current tour 'It's Your Turn' where they are performing at Veteran's Medical Centers across the country.

The bands sophomore CD, Turning Point was released January 19, 2010. The CD which was produced by Robert Jazayeri (No Doubt, Garbage, Britney Spears) transitions flawlessly from smooth sultry vocals and piano to driving beats and roaring guitars that make you want to get up and dance.

'This album is truly my best work.' says Cameron. The video from the first single, 'Timeless' has created a buzz on youtube, receiving thousands of views and already received national placements on Poolside Palisades Pool Party Web series, Fox Sports, Eos music, Pure Play, More Magazine, Smart Money, and the WOR's Joey Reynolds' show.

Side FX kicked off their first tour for Turning Point: It's Your Turn Tour right after the 2010 Grammy's. Look for the band in a city near you for an eclectic blend of pop, rock and jazz experience.

Kim Cameron

Lead Singer and Songwriter

Kim Cameron spent the last decade working up the corporate ladder but there was always something missing in her life. In 2007, a family tragedy led her to re-evaluate her life and goals. Kim decided to finally break free and pursue her lifelong passion for music. As the lead singer/songwriter of Side FX, Kim Cameron is finally living her dream.

So what's the next step? Kim Cameron is now working on inspiring other women to pursue their dreams.

Andy Hamburger

Percussion

Andy is an award-winning drummer/percussionist from Washington, D.C. who has played with The Platters, The Marvelettes, The Drifters, The Coasters, The Ink Spots, Temptations and Harold Melvin's BlueNotes, and many others. He has a vast recording background with numerous CDs under his belt and a host of national commercials and movie trailers. His 20-year career covers a broad range of musical styles, all of which bring a unique and driven rhythm to the Side FX Band. His favorite drum maker? Carolina Drumworks!

Chris (Nik) Nikpora

Songwriter and Guitar

Nik is on a life long journey to understand women. And while he keeps trying to get to the truth, he continues to get it wrong. His sensitivity can be felt in his dramatic middle-eastern influenced guitar riffs that flow effortlessly around each story line. He began playing guitar at age 10, steadily watching his classic guitar hero's from a far-- AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin.

While his metal favorites taught him how to move people across the dance floor, his inspirations have focused him towards a new path. As a key member of Kim's Side FX, Nik travels down this road of collaboration and inspiration. A road that most men might shy away from, but for Nik, life is about taking the next step.

Enea Diotatiuti

Keyboards

A native to Italy, Enea was born with a piano in his hand. He studied under the renowned pianist Massimo Rocchetta, attended the Classical Music Conservatory of Cesena and graduated the top of his class from the Music Academy of Bologna.

Enea placed first for a number of Italy's finest music competitions (Centro Sviluppo Artisti, La Repubblica, Music Academy). He played keys for the well known Italian Reggie band 'Mamasita' and is currently producing material for SEE-I (Thievery Corporation).

Matt Berry

Bass Guitar

For the past 14 years, Matt has been known as a guitar and bassist expert. A graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory with a degree in Jazz Studies, Matt has multiple awards and performances under his belt including Outstanding Soloist Award at the North Texas Jazz Festival. He had recorded two pieces for North Advertising Downtown Portland AD Campaign which ran on TV for 2 years in Portland, OR.

Matt Everhart

Bassist

For the past 16 years, Matt Everhart and the bass have been as one. As a thriving member of the Baltimore and Washington, DC music community, Matt is known for his strong and creative bass lines having performed on several albums as a studio musician and a member of several prominent regional bands.

After earning an bachelors degree in music from Appalachian State University in NC he went on to study Jazz at Indiana University. Some of his notable performances include the Platters, appeared on NPR's "A Prairie Home Companion," and Baltimore's Junkyard Saints.

Andy Shriver

Guitar

Hailing from Norfolk, VA, Andy began his musical training at the age of 7 studying violin, piano, voice and guitar. Since playing his first club gig in Annapolis, MD at age 15, Andy has gone on to amass a considerable list of live and studio performance and writing credits (Junior Cline and the Recliners, Bo Diddley, Discovery Channel, RCA Records, World Cup Soccer, to name a few).

Andy is most at home on stage, bathed in the spotlight, with guitar in hand.
